WHO IS USING PAL TIYA PREMIUM?
We couldn't be happier with what we've achieved by creating Pal Tiya Premium.
Here are just a few nice things some of our fans and customers have said about our product:

SIR RICHARD TAYLOR (5 times Academy Award Winner)
Co-Founder and Creative Director of Weta Workshop

"At the Weta Workshop we have been sculpting with a broad selection of materials within our sculpting studio for the past 27 years".
"For the specific application of 'direct sculpting', with a focus on creating resilient and permanent outdoor sculptures we have not found a better product than Pal Tiya Premium".
"In our opinion Pal Tiya Premium is a far superior product to any other cementitious system that we have used. It not only has greater strength, it is also considerably easier to sculpt and is the most similar product to sculpting clay that we are aware of on the market. Such is our enjoyment working in PTP, we have purchased many tons and sculpted many monumental sculptures in this product to date".

"Pal Tiya Premium is a really terrific sculpting medium."

"Compares to the high end water based clays...It's very elastic, lots of flex, it doesn't break or shatter."  After a day of use " ...the clay was fantastic, very immediate, exciting,  kind of exhilarating."

"Pal Tiya Premium is, without a doubt, the new revolution of outdoor sculptures. The versatility of this super sculpting medium is endless.
If you are interested in creating massive, ultra-strong, fully weather proof works of art, this is product for you!"

"Pal Tiya (Premium) is a dream to work with. Easy to sculpt and the best part is no firing in a kiln!"
This is a great product. It is good to sculpt with and easy to make large objects. I am a potter and I love that I don’t have to worry about cracking and attaching items that could break off. This is so good for students who have issues with clay. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.” Cheryl Hann-Woodlock, Hann Made Studio, Victoria Australia

If I'm honest it looked like a lot of work was involved and kept questioning myself if I could do it all the time and was super worried that I wouldn't be able to do detail with it. I mixed a bit as a test and at first thought oh gosh this feels amazing and after just playing around will a ball off it and putting into diff shapes just to get the feel of it, that gave me the confidence to actually take the plunge.
Oh boy how silly did I feel then as it was an absolute dream to work with. I think I always had in the back of my mind its lot of money to faff it all up .....but the finished product speaks for itself for sure IT'S BLOOMING AMAZING and my other half is now about to make me a large turning platform so I can attempt another HUGE whippet sculpture ......... so watch this space from a now addicted Pal Tiya sculptor."

"I'm absolutely in love with Pal Tiya Premium! I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to start working with it. I enjoy it so much I'm considering using this medium as the only medium I use from here on out! Thank you Pal Tiya!"
Alex Lanfear
"As someone with little experience with ceramics and no access to a kiln an air dry medium like Pal Tiya (Premium) is perfect for making larger outdoor sculptures, it's very easy to use and requires very few other tools to get started."

Working with Pal Tiya Premium was amazing. So quick. It defied gravity !!!...as I got used to it, I slapped it all over the tin-foiled structure. A very obedient medium...once you get the hang of it. Painted with Resene Lumbersider by brush."

“It's the stuff that dreams are made of. A weather proof sculpting material that acts like clay, but cures rock solid and can be kept outside. What more could you want!”

"I discovered Pal Tiya when someone recommended it on a mosaic site. How cool to be able to use this to make items to mosaic on. I am in no way a sculptor, but found the product to be easy to work with. It is so great to be able to make the shape out of simple tin foil! I can't say enough how excited about all the possibilities this gives me. love, this product!"

"Here is my first creation with Pal Tiya Premium, I have been searching for a clay or cement to hold the stones on my fairy houses. I  have tried cement, mortar all sorts of things. This clay is the best one I have used. Easy to work with. I used a wine bottle and covered it with aluminium foil. made the window sills and door sill out of foil and covered the bottle with the clay, I made the roof out of the clay as well. In the past I didn't know what to do about the roof. This clay makes my product look professional."

"This is my first sculpture that I have done with Pal Tiya Premium and I just want to say how much I loved working with this product. I read all the info available to me, watched their amazing and informative videos and I can honestly say I had no issues. The consistency was easy to work with and I was able to do everything with the product I had hoped for and achieved the detail I had wanted to. If anyone out there is on the fence about giving it a go, I would highly recommend giving it a try!"

"I absolutely loved working with it. I am not a sculptor and other than playing with some clay in a high school art class this is the first time I've done anything like this.

I love how easy it was to go back in the second or third day and add to it.
I think Pal Tiya Premium is an absolutely brilliant product. I am looking forward to making many more garden sculptures!"

"My experience with Pal Tiya:

I found Pal Tiya simply by chance and I'm glad I did. I decided one morning that I would like to sculpt a dragon. After seeing the amazing work Kim and her team did with Brienne - I was sold. Not having any formal art training or experience I went into this wide eyed and oblivious about how much time, money and patience it would take to sculpt a piece this large; but proceeded regardless.
Over the course of 3.5 months I purchased 176 pounds of Pal Tiya and spent roughly 380 hours on my dragon sculpture. I had a ton of questions, luckily the Pal Tiya team was there for me every step of the way. I enjoyed the challenge and have already received a offer for an even larger commissioned piece.
For those considering Pal Tiya for large sculptures, this is my advice. For starters, I would suggest you buy in bulk. Refer to PT’s product chart to determine how much product you will need, the chart is accurate. Buy a lot of gloves, and tin foil in bulk, you’ll need them! Do not attempt to sculpt indoors unless you have a studio that can handle a lot of dust (I made that mistake). Buy a heavy duty mixer. My $130 mixer broke on the first batch and I ended up mixing each batch by hand. Get the right tools, I purchased a 30 piece sculpting set on amazon for $15 and it worked great. Make your armature solid. Use wood or metal with supports because it becomes very heavy. Do small batches, the PT dries relatively quickly and it can go to waste if you mix more than a few cups at a time. Make sure you use enough PT to cover your armature heavily, or it can crack or fall in on it’s own weight.
After you have completed your sculpture, you can use a dremel tool with diamond bits to carve and add detail. Use a wire brush to smooth rough areas, then you can use a blow torch to burn the fibers off easily. If you want to color your sculpture, take a small amount of PT and dry it – then test your color before you apply. I used a gallon Bears concrete dye. It took me 5 attempts to get the color I wanted. Hope that info helps.
Definitely recommend Pal Tiya."

"I have been using Pal Tiya Premium for several months now, hated wearing the gloves at first but I change them several times and when I am working in detail I wear a smaller size. I LOVE using Pal Tiya Premium to create my Hobbit Homes, Guardian Trees & big flat bases for the houses to sit on. I can make legs for these bases to any length without them collapsing, that is so good compared to clay that is baked in a kiln.

I find PTP versatile & easy to mix up and use & I like the colour. I love the 'quickness' of the product, no waiting for kiln firings. A future project is to use a mold for a planter. I will keep you posted on the progress. Thanks again for making a fabulous product!"

"I really enjoyed working with Pal Tiya Premium.

I used aluminum foil as you suggested, my sculpture was not very big but in some places I added to it after it was cured and it adhered to itself great.
It worked quite well with the foil armature following the shape nicely. No problems even around the fingers.

You were not kidding it sculpts a lot like wet clay and stays pliable for a good amount of time. I mixed by hand using three separate batches.
I have not added detail yet.
Here's a pic I will send more soon."

"It is a fun sculpture medium that is more like sculpting in ceramic clay than in making a paper mache project. It is pliable, does not crumble and it does do exactly what you want it to do. When mixed properly, it is easy to add and subtract clay as needed. You can see the fibers when mixing but not so much when sculpting. I did not mind the fibers as my sculpture is furry anyway."

"My experience working with Pal Tiya Premium has been one of excitement for a new product and enjoyment of seeing the many possibilities that can be achieved with this new sculpting material.
As a sculptor, I always try and push myself in the different mediums in sculptural art. Pal Tiya Premium is a wonderful product for outdoor and long lasting works of art. I look forward to seeing what can be accomplished this year as I "dive in" and see where my imagination takes me."

"My 11 year old daughter Brianna has amazed me with the sculpture she has completed".
The work looks as though it has been created by a well-experienced professional - yet this is only the second time she has ever sculpted!

What an incredible opportunity we've had to work with Pal Tiya Premium. The material is so easy to work with & the results can be enjoyed for a lifetime".
Note from Kim Beaton: "I provided the basic wooden armature, but all the tinfoil and subsequent sculpting is entirely the work of Bri (she is particularly fussy about her reptile scale work)".

"Having now completed three Pal Tiya Premium insect sculptures of varying sizes I can say with confidence that this product certainly does deliver on the promise to be the ultimate outdoor sculpting material. I have tried all sorts of other materials in the search for something that is easy to work with and will stand the tests of time and weather - and Pal Tiya is the best by far".

It is so easy to mix and apply, even to small insect legs (although a liberal dose of patience also helps) and it quickly hardens firm enough to give support while still allowing time for detail. The fact that it only needs tinfoil for the armature also simplifies the whole process enormously".

Thanks Kim for this wonderful product".

"The whole experience of working with this material as well as foil and hot glue gun is great fun! There, my first sculpture out of Pal Tiya Premium and I know there will be more coming..."

It is 1 m tall and I used less than 20 kg of the powder. I had this idea for ages (well, I am full of ideas that are ages old...) and this material seemed perfect! This sculpture did freak out next door cats for a while, that was fun".

And here is the original drawing by my daughter that this sculpture is based on!"

"I loved Pal Tiya Premium! I have already plans to do more. Previously, I have used cement, papier mache, paper clay and Dargit, but have to say that Pal Tiya Premium has been my favourite. Great texture and love the fact that it is weather proof. There are so many possibilities for Pal Tiya and me in the future".
